Cherries and Gout

Can cherries help fight gout?

Based on the studies and research I've found around the internet and in print publications, as well as my own experience, the short answer is "Yes, cherries can help in the fight against gout. But they aren't a cure in themselves".

If you're in a hurry, and are willing to take my word for it that cherries can help, then you can stop reading now and run out (or crawl out, if you're in the middle of a gout attack) and get some cherries.

For a bit of general background about gout and its symptoms I've included a brief overview on the About Gout page.

Some people may also find the page on how I combat gout to be of some use. Otherwise, please continue on to read about Medical research on cherries for treating gout.
